Supply and install of EV loudspeakers to TeamSport kart racing circuits.
TeamSport is the largest indoor karting company in the UK. Currently operating 35 racing circuits, the company has plans for continued growth across the UK and Europe with the intention of making the fun of indoor karting accessible to as many people as possible. Its first track opened in Guildford more than 30 years ago with a desire to create the best possible karting experience and set new standards in the industry.
Over the years, TeamSport has maintained its ethos and grown to develop exciting multi-level tracks, provide top of the range karts, and install premium customer facilities. With an eye and ear on every detail, TeamSport recognises the importance of high-quality audio provision across its reception areas, briefing rooms, hospitality facilities and spectator areas. Audio upgrades to TeamSport’s sites are carried out by Pro Audio Systems (PAS) of Bradford, who have been the company’s chosen supplier and installer since 2016. A recent example was the upgrading of audio in the reception areas of 12 TeamSport sites.
“We carried out upgrades to the reception areas in quick succession, sending a PAS team ‘on tour’ to maximise logistical efficiency and deliver the upgrades as competitively as possible for TeamSport,” says PAS Director Dave Simpson. “During the course of the tour we visited Gosport, Crawley, Mitcham, West and North London, Dunstable, Cardiff, Warrington, Liverpool, Manchester, Clydebank and Cambuslang, so we certainly covered some miles! Over the years we’ve dealt with 27 of TeamSport’s venues, so we’ve created a very efficient operation to take care of whatever they need.”
The experience of regular site visits has given a PAS strong insight into what TeamSport is seeking to achieve, allowing its team to hone specifications accordingly. EV loudspeakers are now the exclusive choice for the sites, having been recommended by PAS for their performance and value.
Projects and Facilities Director at TeamSport, Dave Rich, who has been involved with design and build projects at new and existing sites for more than five years, was looking for a more professional system that allowed music playback across multiple zones with individual volume control for each. He feels that working with PAS over the years has delivered exactly what TeamSport needed:
“When I began my search for an audio partner, I had no knowledge of what we were looking for as a solution or how it could be realised. The team at Pro Audio Systems helped me to create systems which suit all our requirements - their personal touch and support has really made a difference.
“In the past our audio requirement had mainly been for music reinforcement for spectators in the karting areas, but as we’ve developed our offering, the sites now include bars and ancillary leisure experiences, so we needed a solution in place which not only delivered premium audio from our internal music player but gave us that essential individual control over each zone.”
Whilst the layout of each site differs and each system is effectively bespoke, each designated zone for the most part draws on the same components. Reception areas are equipped with EV EVID C4.2 4” ceiling mounts, while EV EVID C8.2 8” ceiling mounts are deployed in the bars (surface mounted versions are occasionally deployed in areas where the ceiling construction is not appropriate). In the spectator areas, EV EVID 6.2 dual 6” surface mount loudspeakers provide high power and high performance as well as a pleasing aesthetic. Each site is equipped with an Audio Technica System 10 handheld digital wireless microphone system for announcements (System 10 PRO is deployed where there are multiple floors), with a Cloud 4 Zone Rack Mount Venue Mixer for flexible control of each area.
Dave Rich continues:

As well as its 35 UK locations, TeamSport has 3 further sites in Mainland Europe. A market leader in its field, it is looking to expand its business to incorporate more than 60 sites by the end of 2026. This programme of expansion will go hand in hand with converting all its sites to operate electric karts and encompassing a wider range of ancillary leisure experiences.
